Chantix!!!?

by Mike

i am in my first week of chantix. my doctor said he reccommends taking it for 6 months instead of the 12 weeks. my question is: is this like other medications where you will build up a resistance to it.

I’ve been using Chantix for just a little over 2 months. It’s the first time in 33 yrs that I’ve actually been able to put my cigarettes aside & not even think of them. I don’t see any resistance building up at all. And I think your doctor is wise to recommend the 6m vs. 3m routine. Most of the heavy smokers I’ve interviewed have found that they weren’t quite free of the habit at only 3m.

No. Most people see results very quickly, but he may have given you the medicine for 6 months just to make sure that you are able to take it for long enough to work.
