OMG I QUIT LIKE 2 DAYS AGO I FEEL GREAT ALLREADY….

2 Roger May 15, 2011 at 5:31 am

I’m through day 4 without a puff or nicotine of any sort. I have to say it is very hard to get through each day. My cravings are as strong at day 4 as it was at the 1st hour after my last smoke. I’m wondering if the timeline was wrote by exsmokers or am I just that different

3 JL May 17, 2011 at 12:36 am

Today is my day four also. I’m starting to feel better, but still have the physical urge to smoke. I’m just done with it. I hope it never comes back to me. I quit for a week about in January, but at the week, I had a beer and that was that. So, I am determined to go at LEAST 7 days. I feel the least lethargic I have in forever. PLEASE LET ME BE DONE WITH THIS.

This is my day one…again. I’m tired of just getting to day 4 and just giving in! This is it…13 years of being a smoker has gotten the better of me…NO MORE! I QUIT!!!

I’ve reached day 7….the cravings are still pretty intense, but I’m used to making it through the day, so I believe I’m going to make it. We all have the desire to quit smoking…now we have to defeat the addiction…Stay Strong! I smoked for 21 years and haven’t felt this good in a long time…and me and the Mrs. had a lil quality time last night and the stamina is already improved…That should be enough to keep us all off cigs…ha…Good luck fellow non-smokers!

Day 13 for me and just found this site. Good to know that I am not alone in this journey.

I’ve been smoke free since 6-27-11 and it’s awesome! I honestly had doubts early on, but every day is a little easier than the last. I won’t lie to anyone that is just quitting, I still get some urges, but they come on quit and pass just as fast, so my advice to anyone would be Stay Strong!!

This site is a Blessing, because although I’ve only left a couple comments, I stop by here often and read through the comments of others and your strength and determination are a definite pick-me-up.

Thank you and Keep Moving Forward!

I’ve been a non-smoking for two days now. May not seem like much, but for me it’s the start to a lifetime of freedom. A little advice to everyone who’s stopped smoking and wondering if they’ll wake up one day and finally not WANT a cigarette; Allen Carr “The Easy Way to Quit Smoking.” It costs less than a pack of cigarettes and has changed the lives of so many people. I’ve been obsessed with the topic of “quitting” or “stopping” for quite some time now. It’s been something I think about more that I think about actually smoking. And without trying I came across his book at a close out sale and dove right in.

One of the main concerns in the book and it appears a few of you also is thinking you’re going to live the rest of your life in the misery of knowing you’ll always want a cigarette and you can’t have one. If you feel that way, or feel like the method of Will Power has failed for you too many times and you’re fed up (Like I was) I suggest you give it a try. It can’t hurt anything and it’s also pretty entertaining to read regardless of weather or not you actually are a smoker.

Just thought I’d pass along my small efforts in attempt to help others succeed in the way that I intend to. Best of luck to everyone!

Thanks! :)

Hi. I’m on day 7 – and although I’m using patches, I feel rough today!! I’m all achey and shakey! Didn’t think I’d get like this with nicotine replacement?!?! Going to stay strong. I don’t want a cigarette (probably because of the patches) so thats the main thing.

I quit smoking cold turkey on Saturday. I am now on Day 5, without even a hint of nicotine, and I must say that after 2 days . . its a walk in the park. I feel better also.

I am on day 3. My mom passed on 7-27-11 of COPD, 4 months before she passed I to learned I have COPD. I am 55,mom said she would beet her COPD,for her, I will. I already feel better. Every time I think of smoking, I think of mom. I had smoked for 41 yrs.It really was killing me. I could not breath. It is really scary when they rush you to the hospital because you can not breath. The last thing my mom wanted was for me to quit and if not for myself, I will do it for her. I love and miss you mom.

Today is day 6, day 3 was a killer but it’s getting better. I find evenings are the hardest but I try to keep my mind any where but on the cigs. I hope the urge to smoke stops too. All in all not to awfully bad. I’ve smoked for 50 years! Hang in everyone.

Been 7 days to be honest I didn’t think I would make it through the first day, it feels amazing that I have made it this far without any help just mints. Its been hard I wont lie sometimes torture but I have got through the hardest part so no reason why I should give in now. Remember that when u feel the temptation.

25 Renie November 30, 2011 at 3:18 am

I have now made it almost through day 19! The last couple of days I get hit with the strongest urge to throw it all in and have one, just one cigarette. (there is no such thing for me) They don’t last long but boy are they powerful! Any suggestions?

26 John December 15, 2011 at 4:33 am

Day 5 and will never light up again. Three days in the hospital with COPD and I wouldn’t wish that on anybody. It was certainly my eye opener. Again day 5 and lovin it..

27 jordan December 24, 2011 at 1:15 am

Day 5…feels like day one. The want to is there, but I would be so disappointed in myself. I’m getting over pneumonia, and this is my whole reason for quitting! Can’t wait to be free from this demon!

Stumbled across this page 11 months ago. Had been smoking for 35+ years and decided to try to quit again. Well it’s been 11 months and no nicotine what so ever. I printed out the timeline and carried with me so I had an idea what to expect. Urges are still there but not real bad. Do I feel better, not that I can tell. But that might be the extra pounds I put on. My sense of smell has gotten better. Was it worth it, YES. I can’t believe how bad smokers smell now that I can smell it. When the urges come I get up and do something, anything to get my mind off it. Hang in there, it’s worth it.

Hi, it’s day 5 for me. I have given up for a week or two in the past but always find a reason to return to the habit. I really need to do it this time. I cant stand the smell and need to start living my life. Its good reading everyone else’s comments as it helps me stay strong. Good luck one and all, you can do it.

A friend (and former smoker) referred me to this site, after I posted on Facebook that I’ve found something that helps me with the transition of quitting- Cinnamon drops…The cinnamon makes your tongue tingle, and coats the back of your throat, which helps with the couging…I’ve tried quitting SO many times, but had found after a couple of days, that I would start coughing MORE than when I actually smoked! That scared me, and I would go right back to smoking, because it was “safe.” NOT…The cilia comes back to life and saliva normalizes less than 24 hrs. after quitting smoking, and you do have the side-effect of coughing a little more, which will go away, but it isn’t instantaneous! Give it a chance!

I quit on NY’s. As I’ve done so many times before. I feel good though I’m only on day 3 that’s ok. The beginning is always the easiest for me. I know that sounds backwards and it is but it’s true. In a month or possibly 2 or 3 I’ll start feeling like hey, I can have one and I will. then I’m doomed. Going to really try hard not to cave this time. I want it to be the end for me. It’s rediculous how much money they charge for cigs. only thing is once we all quit smoking they’ll attack our booze :( .

I’m on day 4, and I feel fine, my best advice is just to stay busy! I took more hours at work to keep myself busy, and I am not going out to bars or going around other smokers. Last time i tried to quit I was out drinking and all my friends smoke, so I jumped right back in. I rather be anti social for a few weeks then have lung cancer. Also what is helping me, I put 10 dollars away every other day, and it shows me how much money i used to spend on cigarettes. I have myself a “happy” song as I call it, that i listen to when I get the urge, it calms me down. Stay strong everyone! I hope everyone can do it! Write a list of reasons why you are quitting, and look at it every time you have the urge!
