I need to stop smoking. I got addicted and didn’t think I would. It sucks and I hate them, but I cannot stop. Don’t even say cold turkey…

Well, I think most nicotine patches and nicotine gum and the like is generally somewhat expensive, but that is just what I have heard, as I have never bought any myself, so maybe you ought to look into it. If you don’t want to quit cold turkey, you could just try to regulate how much you smoke every day, and then gradually decrease the # of cigarettes you smoke (since that is the idea behind the patches and gum, so you gradually need less and less nicotine).

You would have to be strict with yourself for that to work though, and not just decide you can smoke 5 more cigs for the day, just because you have a bad day, or bum a bunch off of your friends.

You could maybe set out however many you are going to smoke for the day, and put them in an empty pack, and then just smoke from that pack, so you won’t be tempted by a whole bunch of cigarettes sitting in your pocket.

You actually have to be determined to quit though, or nothing will work.

I don’t smoke, but I live with smokers and I want them to quit smoking because I am at cause for second hand smoking (if you heard a lot of people are getting second hand smoking from being or living with a smoker).
Does anyone here have any suggestions or ideas how I can get these people to quit smoking the easy way without wasting a lot of money? I don’t want them to spend to much money on ways that don’t even work, so any ideas are welcome.

I consider that the cold turkey is one easy way to quit smoking though it hasn’t been confirmed yet to be highly effective. This is the theoretical easy way to quit smoking and it stands valid for those who smoke like twenty cigarettes a day. It also applies to someone that is highly-motivated by some external extreme factor. Once you feel your life at risk, you take the cold turkey method as one easy way to quit smoking. Therefore such easy ways to quit smoking do work but their effectiveness depends on lots of individual independent factors that vary from case to case.

It is normal to learn from the beginning that the easy way to quit smoking requires sacrifice and determination too. If you have a powerfully motivating factor like an illness caused by tobacco then your chances of success increase significantly. If you opt for one of the so called easy ways to quit smoking like acupuncture or over the counter treatments you considerably reduce the amount of the withdrawal symptoms. You might consider quit smoking medication, a quit smoking pill like Chantix, which works by reducing the urge to smoke and reducing withdrawal symptoms by a cessation. Keep in mind, however, that nothing works wonders and that easy ways to quit smoking also depend on you.
