Does it really work? I’ve tried every other thing you could think of to quit smoking… The patches, gum… and none of it has really worked out. So has anyone had success with CHANTIX?

I personally don’t trust any quit smoking method that deals only with physical nicotine addiction. Chantix especially because it is potentially dangerous also. I personally wouldn’t go near the stuff.
Like you I tried several times to quit using patches, gums, herbs etc but none of these worked.
Smoking is more of a psychological addiction than a physical one. If you really want to quit you must discover the reasons why you smoke and then eliminate or change these thought processes. As soon as I dealt with my psychological reasons for smoking I quit, first time and more importantly for good.
Once you deal with the psychological side of smoking it makes the quitting process easy, no matter your level of addiction.
Quitting smoking does not require any patches, gums, herbs or drugs. These methods are expensive, time consuming, potentially harmful and simply do not work. All that is required is a bit of motivation, self belief and determination.

I have been taking Champix for 3 weeks and am 13 days smoke free! I have found it quite easy to quit even though I have never really tried before, I am having stomach problems though. I have smoked for nearly 40 years and never thought I could give up.
I haven’t had any withdrawal symptoms, other than breaking the coffee and a cigarette routine it has been good, but my stomach is not happy! If you want to quit without the nasty withdrawal symptoms, this could work for you. Have to say I am worried by some of the comments and research I have done re: depression, I feel ok though.
How Soon Can I Start Birth Control After Quitting Smoking?

i JUST quit smoking because i want to go on the pill, mostly for my skin. i was just curious if there is a time period you have to wait between quitting and starting on the pill to avoid the negative side affects.
i was planning on two weeks? do you think this will be long enough if there is a time period you have to wait?
You can start the pill on the last day of your period. This way your period won’t get screwed up if you start two weeks after. Also I would also talk to a doctor if you decide to start smoking again while on the pill. People who smoke have more chances of getting cancer then women who don’t smoke. I know this because my cousin got cervix cancer while on the pill. She was and still is a smoker. So please don’t smoke while on the pill.

Im 16 and stupidly got in to smoking, i wanna quit but i cant seem to, my parents don’t know and i don’t want them to ever find out. I have been smoking for about a year I really wanna quit but i don’t know how. Please help
If you believe you have enough will-power you could stop cold turkey.
One day I decided to become a vegetarian, and that was over a year ago, and I’m still one.
Try cutting down slowly, getting down to one per week.
Then just stop, don’t let yourself get to them.
Don’t go out and spend your money on cigs, go buy clothes.
You could also try taking Nicotine gum which will probably fasten the quitting process.
You can purchase it at any pharmacy and Wal-Mart.
Also the Nicotine Gum website ships you a free two week trial of gum or something.
My friend is in the same situation! Quitting smoking is one of the most challenging things you can do, but you have to believe you’re strong enough. Start by weening yourself off. Smoke less each week, so that it’s bearable. Try the nicotine patches and gum, too.

A friend of my mother in law went to a hypnotist….it worked….he walked out of there and has NEVER had a craving….its been about 13 years now.
Hypnotherapy is the most successful method I know of. But the real key to quitting smoking is: DON’T SMOKE.
Seriously though, if you can’t do it on your own try hypnotherapy. This form of therapy is often misunderstood and undervalued, but very effective.
There are no patches, pills, gum or herbal medicines that will curb your cravings for smoking. You need to built a strong will power to quit smoking. Remember that tobacco is a very dangerous substance on earth. The God has created this plant for medicinal use but people around the globe have taken it in a different way for their own pleasure and intoxication. When you smoke, the tar enters your lungs and keeps accumulating there like plague. In a long run, it blocks the veins and reduces the passage to accommodate more oxygen into your lungs and you can suffer from short of breath. The bad effect of smoking is well known factors for many kinds of cancers and other diseases. In the first place, I must say that you are inviting biggest trouble by wasting your money, time and health. It affects others in the family also. Since, you wish to know about quitting smoking, please be away from such bad habits and live your precious life gifted to you by the Almighty by doing some good deed in life. Be a proud child to your patents and Society in general. The animals know the bad effect of tobacco and hence never ever enter a tobacco field to graze. You will never find the animals eating tobacco leaves in tobacco field. I smoked for 25 years and stopped the bad habits in one day without looking back. Now, I enjoy a healthy and stressful life. The money spent on smoking is also saved. My family is very happy now and they are really proud of me.
Quit Smoking Today – A Review

“Quitting is easy” a friend told me, “I should know – I did it six times already”
As you probably already know, quitting smoking is one of the toughest things you will ever face in life. For me it was anyway, and I was in the same boat as you are. I was smoking about 40 cigarettes a day and it is fair to say, that I wasn’t at my peak of health. I took the kids to the local park one sunny afternoon to have a game of football and after a couple of minutes I was in a heap on the floor. I knew something had to change, I not only owed it to myself but also my kids to get healthier. I decided that was it and I had to quit smoking!
Now I tried using patches and gum but that just didn’t work as I still missed smoking and ended up just going to the store and throwing the medication in the trash. I knew I had to quit but I was weak willed and needed help.
I stumbled over this site one night on the internet called Quit Smoking Today. It sounded really good but I was a little sceptical about getting ripped off, as there are so many online scams. I finally made the decision and bought the course. This was the best decision I ever made!
The course was a Neuro-Linguistic-Programming or NLP which is a form of Hypnosis. This was 7 months ago and I have not had a cigarette since. All I did was download and listen to the recording once a day for about a week and I had kicked the dirty habit.
However this is not for everyone was it only works on 97.2% of people but thankfully I was in that majority.
After quitting I found that I had loads of extra cash so I’ve been saving it for the 7 months for a nice family vacation to Florida. If it wasn’t for the Quit Smoking Today Program this would not have been possible.
Final Verdict:
If you were in the same boat as me and are struggling to kick the habit for good, then I recommend you take a look at Quit Smoking Today. It has working wonders for me, along with many others. To improve your health and save loads of cash just check it out here Quit Smoking Today.

Standing with your glass of champagne in your hand, counting down the seconds to twelve and the new year, you make a rapid status of your life. And this is when your New Year resolution takes shape. You decide you want to lose weight, see your family more often and quit smoking. But are your going to keep your New Year resolution? Hardly, for a decision to change a habit or behavior is not just something you just implements from one day to another – your decision must be given time to mature.
The key to success lies in careful planning and putting in some very specific goals that are attainable. Here are some quit smoking tips, that will guide you through the new year resolution of quitting smoking and how to keep it.
New Year resolution: I will stop smoking
You must really want to stop smoking. So think about the benefits of smoking and the benefits of giving up. Weigh your arguments against each other. If you decide to quit smoking, think of how it should be implemented.
Before you actually quit smoking, think about how and when you smoke now – your smoking habits. When you have a clear picture of your smoking habits, consider what your can do instead when you no longer smoke. Think of the alternatives – instead of a smoke break at work, you can eat a piece of fruit or go for a walk. Instead of smoking right after dinner, start chewing on your favorite chewing gum – this could be a nicotine chewing gum, if that is your preferred quit smoking method.
After you have quit smoking, your metabolism slow slightly down and you risk facing the much feared quit smoking weight gain. This can be avoided entirely by exercise, which also works well against the physical symptoms of smoking cessation, anxiety and restlessness, and when you are irritable.
Get support from others in the same situation by getting them to stop smoking at the same time, or by signing up for a smoking cessation course.
Should you take a cold turkey or gradual tapering off of nicotine products such as nicotine patch or nicotine gum? Or a quit smoking pill? If you have smoked for many years and / or have smoked several cigarettes each day, it may be helpful to use nicotine chewing gum in a transitional phase to take the top of the physical symptoms, so you can concentrate on breaking the habits that are not is so easy to change. But remember that nicotine chewing gum should not become a new addiction.
8 ways to keeping you New Years resolution:
- You must really want it. Feel it in your heart, and not only in your head, or you might drop it again.
- Set realistic and attainable goals. Your goal should be as specific as possible. Say for example, that you will quit smoking before March 1st, instead of just saying that you will quit smoking.
- Focus on what you want to achieve instead of what you want to avoid.
- Visualize the goal – imagine, for example, a more healthy version of yourself.
- Plan carefully. You need to know what you would do in various tempting situations.
- Get support from your environment.
- Do not have a bad conscience, if you occasionally fall in. Blame will get you nowhere.
- Evaluate your progress and praise yourself for the goal when you accomplish it.

Do you want to stop smoking? If you do, please read on, because the following tip just might prove to be the most effective tip on how to quit smoking you will ever get.
What You Need To Quit Smoking Once For All.
I read once a quip that made me smile – ‘Who says quitting smoking is difficult? I have quit it five times and there is nothing to it.’ Yes, usually this is what happens. You think you left smoking for good and the habit is behind you. Then, you just smoke once with your friends – for the sake of old times – and that is it.
In your mind, this is just a one-time-smoke bit; nothing to worry about. This would be like an occasional chocolate cake slice when you diet. However, in no time, you find yourself ‘treating’ yourself on a regular basis, and supposedly out of the blue you will back smoking regularly again. You need to know and keep in mind that getting back to smoking is extremely easy. You also need to know what you would encounter when you attempt to stop smoking. The withdrawal symptoms can be very unpleasant and painful.
- Are you ready to tackle this problem head on?
- Do you know what medication can help you with the withdrawal symptoms?
- Do you know how long it takes to get rid of the habit?
You need to have nerves of steel and a high level of commitment to get yourself rid of this toxic habit.
The Difference Between Success And Failure – A Great Quit Smoking Tip.
When you decide to quit smoking, take another decision in your mind. Decide never to smoke a cigarette that is bought with your money, and never carry a pack on you. How this quit smoking tip helps you stay off cigarettes?
Read on
The first part of the quit smoking tip – never buy your own cigarettes means that if you smoke you would need someone to offer you one. Most people do not like to share their cigarettes on a regular basis and if you are identified as one who is out for freebies, you would very soon be a loner.
The second part of the quit smoking tip – never carry a pack of cigarettes with you. This means that you cannot depend on having a cigarette when you need one – behavior change – and hence, you would outgrow the dependency on it over time.
