Please don’t say cold failure, because I have a two year ancient who needs me to be a kind, loving mother to him, and a husband who is by now dealing with enough hormonal outbursts.
Just wondering if anyone had quit during pregnancy and if their dr. said it was okay to use aid, like gum or patches. Success tales of women who quit during pregnancy please.
And, if you want to judge me, please just don’t answer.
—–Ugh.. been there done that..
With my first, my husband flew off to Iraq when i was 11 weeks pregnant. I knew i was pregnant, I knew i should quit. The doctor knew I smoked, knew the situation and told me to cut down as much as possible, but don’t worry so much about quitting, if i may possibly, fantastic, if I couldn’t keep it under 3 a day.. He knew i was under enough stress as it was. I did keep it under 3 a day.. (normally 1-2) and my daughter came out fine at 8lbs 4oz. Time will tell of course, but so far, she’s fine.
This time? I’m 11 weeks pregnant tomorrow, been basically quit since 6 weeks. (been really quit since
)
The ONLY reason I was albe to is smoking or the thought of it made me REALLY ILL. I had no real intention on quitting all the way, I figured I’d cut down as much as I may possibly. I didn’t have the willpower if it wasn’t for the sickness. I wish they made me as ill with my first, Of course, No, with my first, I spent 9 months puking, but the ciggerettes were the one thing that didn’t make me sick, go figure. For me, the Mental part of smoking is still there. I still have the moments everywhere I wanna go out and have one or if i get around public who smoke, it’s a bit hard, but the Addiction is gone. The habit of doing it for 10+ years is not but. lol I’m hoping it goes away.
In all honestly, I reckon you should talk to your doctor about it, and maybe he can give you some thoughts. I’m not sure the gum or patches are safe, (less or more safe than smoking anyway) so i don’t want to suggest you do anything until you speak to your doctor. The best thing i got for you is to try and cut down as much as possible. Do things that you do when you aren’t smoking, if you smoke while on the buzz with public or further than, try not to talk on the buzz as much or go ourside as much. figure out how many cigarettes you smoke and cut one out every week, or 2 out every week. (depending on how many you smoke, I was under a half a pack a day when i cut down with my first).
I have no thought how far along you are..maybe morning sickness still has some time to take over and make you ill enough to quit, lol But I wish you the best of luck in quitting. I know it’s super hard. It’s still a daily thing I reckon about I still have my stressful moments. But you stay strong. don’t reckon so much of quitting, just cutting down right now. You might find that cutting down isn’t so hard, then maybe quitting all together won’t be so hard. I’m guessing your doctor will have some suggestions/help for you.

Trust me I know how terribly hard it is. . .. I seriously did quit cold failure. . .it was very hard and although it has been months I still reckon about smoking everyday and yet, every day I choose not to.
The safest way if you don’t quit cold failure would be to start weaning physically off of them. What worked for me was thought about sticking a cigarette in the mouth of my newborn, I wouldn’t do that. . . .{{{{hugs}}}} and excellent luck to you. As a former smoker I know how hard it is.
My doctor advised against any of the stop smoking aids. He advised me to cut down at a snail's pace and wean myself off. Stopping cold failure places stress on your body….and therefore stress on your baby. Many of the aids can be harmful to the baby. Just try to cut back as much as possible and you should be able to wean physically off.
Excellent Luck!
You want the _simple_ truth:
Start Eating Better.
Flush the cigarettes down the toilet and don’t look at them for atleast few years until your children are healthy and running around.
my doctor told me not to because it is very stressful to the baby inside of you not to mention the one further than of you. I was told to imediately cut back to 5 a day and then take one out a week until I didn’t have nay left.
I have never been a smoker so I really don’t know what it’s like, I would wean off for two months and then stop cold failure..How about just 6 cigarettes a day with the aid of gum in that two months?
i dont know but am really interested in the answers i did cut down but am finding it really hard now excellent luck
